FAQs
How do I know if my phone is compatible with the Celestra Health app?
The Celestra app is compatible with most smartphones. It’s available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Regarding Apple devices specifically, the app is compatible with the iPhone XS/XS Max or later. For older devices / older OS versions, the Celestra Health app may continue to operate but it will not be officially supported.
How long will it take to receive my insoles?
Celestra Health will ship your insoles directly to your home. They should arrive within 1 week.
How do I connect the insoles to the Celestra Health app?
Once you receive your insoles, open the Celestra Health app and follow the simple instructions to pair them with your phone using Bluetooth.
How often do I need to wear the insoles?
You’ll need to walk in your insoles for 15 minutes, at least three times a week (on three different days). This routine helps collect valuable data and supports CIDP research. You may choose to wear the insoles more often if you wish, or treat them like a regular insole for your usual walking shoes.
What if I forget to walk for one week?
If you miss a week, just continue with your walking routine the following week. Consistency is important, but we understand that things can happen!
Who can I contact if I have trouble with the app or insoles?
If you have any questions or need support with your smart insoles, please reach out to Celestra Health at support@celestrahealth.com.
Will I return the insoles after the study?
Yes. Celestra Health will coordinate the return process with you once the study is complete.
Do the insoles require 15 minutes of continuous walking?
During a given 15-minute walking session, you can stop to rest (or wait for a traffic light) as often as needed without affecting the measurements. When walking, you should travel at your normal pace.
Should I walk outdoors or can I walk on a treadmill?
You can walk either outdoors or indoors, including on a treadmill—whatever works best for you.
Do I need to take the insoles out of my shoes after 15 minutes?
No, you can wear the insoles all day if you’d like! However, we only collect insights from the first 15 minutes of walking.
Can I wear the insoles with any type of shoe?
The smart insoles are designed to fit comfortably into any pair of closed shoes, ranging from running shoes / sneakers to dress shoes (slip-on or lace-up are both acceptable). It is important that the smart insoles fit comfortably into your footwear. In some cases, this may necessitate removing the existing insoles of your shoes to ensure there is adequate space for the smart insoles, thereby ensuring a comfortable fit. If the smart insoles are not comfortable, please select a different pair of shoes.

Create a List
List the names of all the doctors, hospitals, and other facilities your loved one visits regularly, along with those they have visited in the past. Try to go back as far as you can, striving for at least the last 5-10 years, but do your best. Even if you can’t remember them all, having a strong baseline can help you quickly identify gaps in records.
Ensure You Have the Appropriate Legal Status
It is important to make sure that you are fully empowered to make decisions on behalf of your loved one with Alzheimer’s. Your relationship status with the patient may not be enough to legally give you access to your loved one's medical information. It is a good idea to talk to an expert about securing special legal status, such as Power of Attorney (POA), a legal document that allows an individual to name someone as their decision maker should they no longer be able to make decisions on their own.
Gather and Organize the Medical Records in One Place
It’s important to have all of your loved one’s medical records together in one spot. This makes it much easier for you and your loved one’s physicians to accurately map the patient’s medical journey and more easily share information between doctors. Fortunately, tools exist to make record management and access simple. A free resource like PicnicHealth helps you collect and organize all of this information. PicnicHealth’s intuitive timeline allows you to pinpoint data across the medical history, eliminating your need for keeping heavy binders filled with paper records or keeping track of multiple software portal logins.
Review the Medical Records to be an Informed Advocate
The better you understand your loved one's medical history, the better you can advocate on their behalf. Access and understanding of this information will help you to ask informed questions with physicians. Through regular communication backed by the data in the medical records, you can help your loved one’s care team develop a more successful care plan.
