# How will my doctor know it's OK to give you records?

When you first sign up for PicnicHealth, you sign a HIPAA authorization form which allows us to act on your behalf in requesting your medical records. This is a pretty standard form in medical offices, so they’ll know to send over the records we’re looking for.
